  • ICE OFFICIALS CAN ENTER YOUR HOME IN TWO WAYS: YOUR CONSENT / PERMISSION OR A VALID WARRANT. 
  • DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR
  • ASK TO SEE A WARRANT
  • ALWAYS ASK FOR IDENTIFICATION OF SAID OFFICIAL.
  • YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT

YOUR RIGHTS IN A CAR

  • DO NOT DRIVE AWAY OR GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE, REMAIN CALM
  • DURING TRAFFIC STOPS, POLICE OFFICERS WILL ALWAYS BE DRIVING MARKED VEHICLES AND BE DRESSED IN A UNIFORM
  • DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION SURROUNDING YOUR  IMMIGRATION STATUS TO POLICE OFFICERS OR ICE OFFICIALS.

YOUR RIGHTS IN A PUBLIC AREA

  • DO NOT RUN.  REMAIN CALM
  • ALWAYS ASK, “ AM I FREE TO GO?” & “AM I BEING DETAINED?”
  • YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT

YOUR RIGHTS IN JAIL OR POLICE CUSTODY

  • YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT
  • YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO A PHONE CALL
  • YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO AN ATTORNEY 
  • YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO SIGN ANYTHING BEFORE SPEAKING WITH AN ATTORNEY
  • CRIMINAL ARRESTS, CHARGES, AND CONVICTIONS CAN AFFECT YOUR IMMIGRATION STATUS AND PROCEEDINGS
  • DO NOT DISCUSS YOUR IMMIGRATION INFORMATION WITH ANYONE OTHER THAN YOUR ATTORNEY
